“Brooklyn-based quintet Habibi formed in the spring of 2011 by Detroit-native Rahill Jamalifard and Lenaya Lynch, who bonded over their love of Middle Eastern psych music. Tapping into their Motown roots of simple but infectious pop melodies delivered with punkish attitude, the two recruited Erin Campbell (guitar/bass) and Karen Isabel (drums), and the band were quick to receive critical accolades, with their self-titled Burger Records debut heralded by The New Yorker as “stunning.”
Habibi, groupe exclusivement féminin en provenance de Brooklyn et formé en 2011, est de retour pour propager l’amour autour de lui ; avec une petite halte en Europe pour la toute première fois.
Pour les non-familiers de la langue arabe, habibi signifie «mon amour». La chanteuse du groupe a grandi dans une famille iranienne, ceci expliquant cela, mais ce nom colle également parfaitement à leur univers musical ; entre surf-music tout droit sorti des 60’s, mélodies orientales et ballades amoureuses.
Leur tout premier EP était d’ailleurs sorti chez les francophones de Born Bad Records en 2012 avant qu’elles ne sortent leur premier album en 2014 chez Burger Records. Quatre ans plus tard, après une longue absence, elles sont de retour avec de nouveaux morceaux et leurs fans européens ne seront pas en reste.

Power trio Lactose-Noise-Grunge qui part des cendres de Frances’Foes, ancien projet Montréalais de Matthieu Peyraud, (Phoenician Drive) installé dorénavant sur Bruxelles.
Il officie ici à la basse et au chant, accompagné de nouveau membres: Martin Rault (Phoenician Drive) à la batterie et Gaëtan Gauthier à la guitare. Les influences vont de Wire à Deerhoof en passant par la noise de Fugazi et de Sonic Youth.. ça sort un rock direct, abrasif et laiteux. Enjoy Kids !
